Our Story

La Casita Blanca / Sunset Shell

My parents honeymooned in a small beachfront cottage on a small beach in Cuba many years ago.


My dad, a poet, wrote about this beautiful time of their lives in his poem "La Casita Blanca" (Little White House). To this day, my parents get emotional when they read the poem and fondly remember those days. 


I met my wife over twenty-five years later, and we began to vacation on Sanibel Island frequently. Naively, I promised her that I would one day buy her our own "Casita Blanca" by the beach on Sanibel. 


Well, the promise eventually came true, and our family has grown over the years, but now we call our little dream home "Sunset Shell."


We welcome you to come and share in the memories of three generations as we help you build your own.

    Laid back dining, locals, good eats.

    My boys favorite, both ate the "Famous Pounder," it's a challenge and gets your picture taken.

    A bit of a tourist trap, but certainly a fun experience; try the biscuits too!
